Color - Confirmation - Disposition

Looking for a gelding with a calm disposition and the right confirmation to stand out in the show ring? Then Pirate may be just the horse you are looking for because he certainly catches your eye when you first see him. Then when you meet him - What a Big Love! He actually enjoys being haltered and learning new experiences. He has a real desire to please.

Appearance
Pirate stands erect at 15-2 H as a dark brown, 2004 gelding. In his summer coat, he is brown; in his winter coat, he is black. Take your pick.
According to our measurements and all the horse growth formulas, he will probably be about 16-0 H and weigh about 1400 lbs. when mature. He has a classy, refined head and a great neck and headset. He is AQHA correct with a short back, long underline, deep heartgirth, and long muscling. He has plenty of bone, straight legs, and well-shaped hooves. His long, flowing, uniform mane and tail can be styled to the show event and owner preference.

Disposition & Training
Pirate is well-mannered and respectful of people and other horses. When he trots and lopes, he floats. He was taught his basics at age 1. As of 01 January 07, Pirate had 45 days of professional training with Greg McVey, and they accomplished a lot in a short time. Greg took Pirate from a lounge around the round corral without a halter or lounge rope to being saddled in 75 minutes in Pirate's 1st round pen training session. He was taught to lounge, with all gaits, driven, and then ridden. Pirate now rides under saddle like he was born to it, and he has never offered to buck - even with novice riders.
Of all the horses we've ever raised and trained, there was only one other horse with Pirate's disposition and confirmation. Greg has only trained 2 other horses similar to Pirate. Pirate should be as close to ‘bullet-proof' as a horse can be. We continue to offer Pirate new experiences and, so far, he is still excited and pleased with himself about learning new skills.

Pirate really should belong to a young person who wants to love him and show and win in the ring, so heavy-handed cowboys - please don't inquire!

Have a Good Day!
